Those Who Refuse to Get Third Dose Will Not Be Allowed to Attend Festivals and Weddings

PHNOM PENH: The Phnom Penh Capital Administration released an official instruction on Thursday morning announcing new restrictions on events and gatherings. This includes the provision that those who have not yet received their third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine after four months of being vaccinated with the base doses, will not be allowed to attend any festivals or weddings.

The instruction also adds that there should be no more than seven people allowed per table at weddings, restaurants, festivals and any other kinds of gatherings and events.

The Capital Administration reminds citizens to strictly abide by and implement the necessary health measures to prevent further transmission of the Covid-19 disease, especially the Omicron variant. These restrictions have been announced in Phnom Penh in light of the recent sharp increase in Omicron cases within the city - a triple-digit increase which has raised concerns.

In addition to having no more than seven people per table, crowded places such as weddings, restaurants, festivals, entertainment venues and other gatherings must abide by all other safety measures such as spraying alcohol, washing hands, measuring temperature and mask wearing. At restaurants, masks should be removed only when eating, and then worn again when getting up from the table.

The Capital Administration urges everyone to get vaccinated against Covid-19, both the base doses and the booster shots, in order to encourages community immunity and strength, and to avoid a public health disaster from occurring.
